The original purpose of the Japanese Spitz is unclear, due to the destruction of records during world war two, in Japan. But most likely is for human companionship, for families. One theory of origin is said to be a descendant of the large size white German Spitz, brought to Japan around 1920's, via the continent of Siberia and North Eastern part of China.
