Hi All.......
I had advertised my seond litter of pups, for sale to good home.
One enquiry I got whom
seemed very interested, was a guy, whom told me,
he wanted two pups, a male and female, to go to Abredeen in Scotland.
He assured me they would be well looked after, even after the puppy
stage,
I was especially worried as it was a bad time of year to sell pups,
being December, and I was afraid he may want them as christmas presents,
in which
I would not sell them as presents in fear the new owner would grow bored,
or not want them,
and know nothing about this breed and maybe leave them on road side
etc.
As I do not sell my puppies to children, or as presents, whom ever wants
one
must be able to care for them well, and have time to spend with them.
I first got suspisous
when, he said pups and then pup (which could be a mistake)
Next he said a client of his owed him money, in which he would send
as a bankers draft
to me of 4,800 euro, in which he then wanted me to take my share from
this after cashing it,
and to send the remainder on by western union to an address he gave
me, in Africa,
where he says his shipper is located. As the shipper needed his share
of the money,
before collection. (First I was concerened for my puppies as he told
me they ware
going to Scotland, and they would be together.... I thaught then maybe
he had
a pet business going or something, and as I felt it was a bed time of
year,
as they more than likely be given as presents.... my nightmare, unless
person knew
what they were geting, and has reserched up about this breed etc and
knew what
they were getting, and be prepared for getting a puppy).
I have some of the e-mails
he sent, below - he also used to ring,
twice and three times a day
as I had given him my name and address and telephone number, in which
he needed
to give his client to send me the bankers draft. When the package came
from 'FedEx'
eventually, as it being Christmas, and holidays it was slow in comming,
is well as they use another delivery firm to deliver outside Dublin.
The package contained a cheque for 5,000 euro, the name on the form
being
'John Woods' whose address was unclear, as my address was very clear,
then on the envelope inself another name 'John Costa' with address on
Dundlak, Ireland.
Which did not correspond with address on 'FexEx' forms.
He also signed of his e-mails as Philips, but twice he signed of Oliver.
I did not like all the different names.
(He called me on three different phone numbers - that I know about
One was a NO NUMBER, which displayed on my caller ID,
another was a landline number the 'Garda' recogonised as a 'Nigerian
landline number)
When I mentioned this to a friend, he said to go to the police and get
it checked out,
as when you lodge the cheque, it must go into your bank account,
it will be cashed in your account within three days, BUT
you are reliable up to
six months later (I was told) if the cheque is a fraud, I am responsible,
as it is my name on this cheque and knowing me, if the chequed was cashed
in my account,
I persumed it would cleared, and would have gone ahead and sent the
money
to him as he wished. Especially when he also seemed to be in a hurry
for me to do this.
I took my friends advice and went as an inquiry to the police station,
I talked with a dective and a Garda, they also believed it was a fraudlent
cheque,
and would check with the bank for me. They rang me the next day, the
account
for the cheque was CLOSED, and the bank also received a similar cheque
the week before - also a fraudlant cheque, a young lad, selling his
donkey.
Lucky for both of us we were not caught out and my puppies are safe.
Both our cheques were sent to the fraud squad in Dublin,
So far I have not heard back...... but was told they would probably
never be caught, as they are in Nigera.
I decided to put this up on the NET
as a warning to all
breeders out their.....
to protect innocent puppies, and
you yourself, from having to pay the bank back.

Thanks for your mail back to me. I will pay 350euros for the pups. i
will
like you to know that i will take proper care of them even after their
pups
stage.However, i may not be able to come and pick them up myself as
reside
in Aberdeen Scotland.But i have a shipper who will take care of that
for me
as soon as payment is been made. Also i intend making payment soon,
and this
will be done via an irish bankers draft. i will like to make payment
before
xmas. await your soonest reply.

i will like you to know that, as soon as you confirm payment satisfactory
my
shippers will be at your doorstep for the pickup, However, prior to
my last
mail concerning payment for the Dogs, my colleague in Ireland. owes
me
4700euros, so i will instrut him to issue payment of that amount to
you,
once you've Claimed / cashed the draft, deduct how much Dogs cost, and
then
the balance you will send over to my shippers agent to enable him proccure
other items needed for the pickup of the Dogs. If this will be alright
by
you, then i will be needing your contact details so that the Draft can
be
addressed and sent to you soon. Also your phone number will be needed
so
that i can give you a call as soon as the payment package is ready to
be

concerning the the rest of the funds, you will send the rest money to
my
shipper in cash via western union money tranfer, this is to enable him
take
care of all expenses incured during and after the shipping process.Also
with
the trust i inbided in you lately ,i will like you to know that it's
mandatory my shipper get the rest of the money so shippment of the dogs
can
be made possible. i will send you my shippers details soon. as soon
as
payment is confirmed ok by you , you will send it down to my shipper
so he
will be at your doorstep for the pickup.

that i do not know what is happening because on the fedex detailed results
it is indicating that Customer not available or business closed. So
i need
you to be at home to claim the package and also call fedex to deliver
to the
correct address . i hope to here from you as soon as possible.

Thanks for the update. i will be expecting your mail back to me as soon
as you recieve the package. So once you have recieved it, go straight
to
your bank to cash it and then follow our agreed procedure by sending
the
balance to my shipper to enable him do the pick up

These are a few e-mails in which I got from 'Philips Raul' ?????
Starting 05-December-04 ..... Right into January 05
As you can also see from these, he seems more interested in the cheque
rather than the pups.....
Also when he phoned it was all about the money, only twice on the phone
did he ask or mention pup? pups.
